BlogTV - Watch Live TV now!

BlogTV.com

I came upon this interesting website, BlogTV.com which allow users to create, share and watch live broadcast online. It seems to be a pretty busy site and it has been around since 2006. Yeah, it is a bit late though for a short review on this site. :P

The design of the site is quite user friendly as I find it easy to navigate the site. The main page itself is interesting enough.. I spent some time watching the featured live show and others that were ‘on air’ at that time. BlogTV offers great variety of live shows and it has the following channels :

  • News and Views
  • Music
  • Travel and Places
  • Comedy
  • Art and Entertainment
  • How to & DIY
  • Sports
  • Tech and Games

And if you find live shows that are good, you can subscribe to them. In case when someone is hogging the TV, you can opt for live tv at BlogTV.com.

    Western Union Logo

My 3rd Adsense payment is now ready for collection and this will be the final update on Adsense’s recent new payment method via Western Union.

I have made collection from RHB and CIMB before and it seems that CIMB is more efficient. Therefore, I have ‘appointed’ CIMB as my official bank to collect my Adsense payment.  :D

You can also collect your Adsense payment via Pos Malaysia as well but not all outlets provide Western Union services. Furthermore, the queue is usually unbearable!

All publishers outside US will generate lesser income due to the drop in US currency recently. I have feeling that it will drop further seeing that US market fared in past weeks.

    Entrecard

… because most of them are rubbish. The visitors referred by Entrecard were of “drop and go” pattern. They visit your site, drop their card and leave your site.. all done in within an average of 18 seconds. Check out the stats below:-

    Average Time

Despite the “low” quality traffic, I will continue to use them because it gives me an opportunity to advertise in other popular blogs (JohnChow, JohnCow, Problogger) for free. That’s the only beauty of this program.

    Sun Microsystems acquires MySQL

    Sun and MySQL

MySQL, a popular database system for web application (more than 10 million of installations) announces today that it has been acquired by Sun Microsystems for US $1 billion.

MySQL has been one of the essential component for running web applications like Wordpress, Wikipedia and other huge content management systems (i.e Joomla, Drupal). Most people (web developers especially) would like to know where MySQL is heading after the takeover. Will it remains as an open source project?

    I found this on MySQL.com :

I’d like to think that the acquisition of MySQL by Sun will be seen as good news also by the core group of users who form the active MySQL community. This is because Sun is a safe haven for MySQL. Sun knows Open Source, and to the extent things change, I expect Sun to add value to our community. I don’t expect huge change, though. We continue to work with our quality contributors, we continue to provide our MySQL Forums, the Planet MySQL blog aggregator, we remain on the #mysql-dev and #mysql channels on Freenode, we provide MySQL University lessons, we meet at the MySQL Users Conference. We’ll put effort into connecting the many FOSS enthusiasts and experts at Sun — whom we will now learn to know better — with our active user community.
