Unlike updating your address which is done instantly through your Adsense account, changing your Adsense payee name has to be done in a manual way. Here are the steps:-

First, click here to Adsense Contact Us page. Select

Account Issues -> Want to change my payee name

and click “Continue”. Fill up the form and click “Submit” to complete the process. It will take a day or two for Adsense team to reply.

In their email, you are required to answer few questions regarding your Adsense account for verification purpose. This will ensure that the privacy and security of your AdSense account will not be compromised. Here are some possible questions:-

• What was the first day you received a page impression?
• How many page impressions did you get on your first day?

If all questions are answered correctly, then your payee name will be updated in 2 - 3 days.

For those who update your payee name because you would like to receive your Adsense payment through “Western Union Quick Cash“, take note that Google starts processing payments on the 16th of each month. If you’re scheduled to receive a payment this month and your account is updated after the 16th, your payment will be issued to your old name.

I would suggest you to have your payee name updated before switching the payment method to Western Union.
